Does a Bigger Diamond Mean a Better Diamond?

Many of us ladies would love to have a diamond ring with at least a one carat centre stone. Why? It is because marketing has drilled it into our heads that this is the benchmark size for a decent engagement ring. The unfortunate consequence of this thinking is many women end up with dull milky diamonds. Their fiancé’s have traded in cut, colour, and clarity for heavy carats.

If you can afford a big and beautiful diamond, more power to you. But if you are on a budget, opt for the well cut diamond with good colour. A diamond with fire and brilliance is much more eye catching and admired than one purchased purely for its size. It’s not how big it is, it’s how well it is cut!
